All good! Just across the road from the train station, the hotel couldn’t have been more convenient! We found friendly staff, lovely food, comfy beds, great bath/shower, big fluffy towels. The room was quite large (for the UK!) and I loved the way we could control the heating and also open the sash windows for fresh air.
Our room had a good supply of tea/coffee/biscuits etc which was replenished on the second day.
We had breakfast the first morning, but opted to have brunch in the bar before we left on the second. All the food was fresh, tasty and cooked well.
The location was perfect for us. We had a trip to the Roman Baths, dinner at Sally Lunn’s, a swim at the Thermae Spa, Dinner at a Tapas restaurant (very nice food), I did a bit of shopping, and we took the two different ‘hop on, hop of’ bus trips. It was a cold day on the open topped bus, but we’d anticipated this and taken gloves, scarves etc – were so glad we went – Bath is just a beautiful city.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Royal Hotel, loved the history of the place and hope to come back some day. Thank you.
