We were a little apprehensive due to the virus, but every precaution was taken to make our stay safe in a very unobtrusive way. All of the staff without exception were welcoming and helpful; nothing was too much trouble and they are dealing with the Covid situation remarkably well. It is an old hotel and the decor reflects the era in which it was built but on saying that it was extremely comfortable and very clean. We had breakfast and dinner over the two nights we stayed and had read that the food was very good, but it wasn’t just good it was excellent. Overall, we can highly recommend the Royal Hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we return to Bath, which we will – two nights isn’t enough to experience everything it has to offer.
