I stayed here for 1 night for my first time in Bath and it was lovely. We arrived and were told that our room wasn’t quite ready so because of the wait were offered a complimentary drink from the bar, a glass of champagne with our evening meal and the offer of a late checkout. The fact that this delay was acknowledged by the very friendly and helpful receptionist (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) made all the difference as in some places we’d have just been left to wait. It wasn’t really an issue for us anyway and it was nice to see that cleaning staff were perhaps taking longer to clean the rooms because of COVID-19. At all times the staff were friendly, helpful and professional and really made you feel welcome. The room, although small, was clean and had all you could need for a stay including some very nice Whittard coffee and a cafetière. We had room 205 which had a view over the rooftops but you could also see some of the city and buildings. The highlight for me was the food. The pear and blue cheese starter was so tasty and the Creme brûlée was amazing. The main absolutely delicious and some of these best lamb I’ve ever tasted. The cooked breakfast was also very nice and little touches like the toast racks were nice. The Brasserie Brunel restaurant was nice with friendly staff. The hotel is in an ideal central location opposite Bath Spa train station. We drove in from nearby Limpley Stoke and parked at Manvers Street Car Park. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Bath and would recommend.
