The location opposite the train station was a great incentive to travel by rail and avoid the hassle of the M4 and trying to park. We were greeted with a very warm welcome by the staff on reception. We were a little bit early but the hotel had a left luggage room so we dropped off our stuff and started our exploration of the town. The room was very comfortable, even if the floorboards betrayed the age of the hotel, it’s all part of the Victorian splendour. This is the first hotel I have stayed at with a cafetière and excellent coffee in the room. The bed was really comfy. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food was great. The hotel offers competitive prices if you book on their website. We would definitely stay again.
