What a wonderful hotel! Having been used to, in recent years, the bland big names (rooms all the same, minimal etc) and not having stayed in a proper old school hotel for a long time I felt incredibly well taken care of. Great check in and pre emails. Staff friendly and smiley in reception, bar, restaurant and breakfast. Room was exceptional. On point decor, fluffy robes, immaculate and a quality choice of beverages. We had a little dressing area and writing desk. The hotel breakfast was delicious with a very enticing cooked menu, I had the delicious full English and my grandson the Eggs Benedict, which he loved. Very nice continental buffet also. Staff were very good and cheerful. Restaurant was excellent – sirloin steaks, cooked to perfection. Has all the old hotel facilities, e.g. morning newspaper orders.

This hotel is the essence of quintessential English and wonderfully so! Highly recommended!
