The Isambard Meeting Room

The Isambard Meeting Room is a new meeting and private party venue which has been created within the Royal Hotel Bath. The decor and furnishings have been professionally designed and there is a small private bar incorporated within the room.

Being located directly opposite the railway station with plenty of car parking nearby, The Isambard is a perfect meeting point and this delightful room is equally attractive for receptions, small lunch or dinner parties in Bath city centre.

The name Isambard is taken from the famous engineer and designer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who was responsible for the design of The Royal Hotel in 1846.

Why Meet?

For quite some time now, we’ve all got used to meeting virtually over the various e-meeting platforms available to us. Clearly, during the global pandemic, this was necessary, and during that time we realised lots of benefits of meeting virtually.

However, with the world having returned to a new normal, it is important to remember that there are still some huge benefits to meeting in person. Here are a few:

  • With face-to-face meetings, the days of reminding people to un-mute themselves are gone – technology issues with things such as webcams and microphones can massively disrupt meetings – so if it’s important maybe you could consider meeting in person?
  • Similarly, with face-to-face meetings there are far fewer distractions and all present can properly focus on the matter at hand – how many of us have sat replying to emails and doing other work whilst on a virtual meeting?
  • Finally, in-person meetings enable you to engage in meaningful small talk and start to really build relationships – these will help you not only when it comes to efficiency but when it comes to career progression, too

Why Bath?

There’s a lot you probably don’t know about Bath…

First and foremost, it is the largest city in Somerset and happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site – owing to its deep-rooted Roman history. And as if that’s not impressive enough, it has actually been voted the world’s favourite British spa destination by TripAdvisor.

How does this relate to a meeting room, you ask? Well, our point is, simply, that Bath is a lovely place to live, work and meet. There are a wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants and the deep history of the place will be sure to get your creative juices flowing.

Why The Royal Hotel?

Now we get down to business. Why choose the Isambard Meeting Room? Our answer is short and sweet – because there is nowhere else quite like it.

Unlike lots of other corporate meeting rooms and venues, The Royal Hotel, Bath, has real character and charm. Dating back to 1846, we truly believe this is one of the classiest and nicest places to be in Bath.
